Originally from Ohio, Dr. H. Lindsay Wright attended the University of Colorado graduating in 1999 with a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology. She then relocated to Florida to attend Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry, from which she received her Doctor of Optometry degree in 2003. Dr. Wright completed clinical rotations in pediatrics, low vision, and specialty contact lenses. She graduated in the top of her class and was honored with the admission to the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society.


After graduation, Dr. Wright returned to Colorado with her husband, John. While working at practices in the Denver metro area, she always dreamt of opening her own practice in a small community. In 2005, her dream was achieved and Carbon Valley Eye Care opened its' doors to the Carbon Valley neighborhood.


Dr. Wright is involved in the Colorado Optometric Association (COA), as well as
a member of the American Optometric Association. She is currently serving her second term as the District 4 Trustee for the COA and is the president of the Northern Colorado Optometric Society. Dr. Wright was honored as the "Young Optometrist of the Year" by the COA in 2009 and was also nominated as a candidate for the national award.


Dr. Wright is proud to be a participant doctor in the InfantSee program, whichis a cost-free public health program developed to provide professional eye care for infants nationwide. In addition, she is certified in Aviation Vision, which allows her to appreciate the unique visual needs of pilots.


Dr. Wright and her husband welcomed her baby daughter, Clara, into the world (and occasionally into the practice) in 2010. When not at the practice, Dr. Wright and John enjoy outdoor activities, such as hiking, biking, and skiing. During the fall, you can always find Dr. Wright at the University of Colorado football games supporting the Buffaloes.

Dr. Robert H. Riggert

Optometrist
F.A.A.O

Originally from Nebraska, Dr. Robert Riggert graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1971 with a Chemical Engineering degree. From 1971 to 1974 he worked as a Process Design Engineer at Chevron Research. Dr. Riggert then received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of California at Berkeley in 1978. From 1978 to 2008, he practiced optometry in Seward, Nebraska. In 2008, Dr. Riggert and his wife, Jana, moved to Colorado. He joined Dr. Lindsay Wright in her practice at Carbon Valley Eye Care in February, 2009.


Dr. Riggert has been a member of the American Optometric Association since 1974. He has served as the Nebraska Optometric Association District President and State Treasurer. He has been a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry since 1980 as well as a member of the AOA Contact Lens Section since it was established in 1981. He has been a member of the Colorado Optometric Association since 2008.


Dr. Riggert was a member of Rotary for twenty-nine years during which time he served as club treasurer for eight years. At his Church he served as an Elder and on the Board of Personnel. He enjoys hiking, snowshoeing, golf, cooking and computer programming. He and Jana have two sons.
